Well that specific record I'd say is pretty fucking substantial since he made it all on modular synths, apparently. However, he does demonstrate a level of technical proficiency that might be called "wankery" by those inclined to do so. Not very glitchy, though, sounds pretty organic and well-composed. I think it's a great album.

i've been listening to foodman since 2012 because japanese footwork was growing larger since like 2011, and the two albums on my chart this week are distinctly footwork but that's not what makes him special. his albums like shokuhin and ez minzoku are why i love him and i don't even know how to explain them. they're like midi cacophonies? it's like i'm listening to the visual image of cheap colorful plastic toys as music. (if that makes sense.)
luna is a great waifu to have. i'm enjoying it so far and i'm glad the style of 4 walls is sticking around.
