Thanks. I got that guitar tone by running the signal through a 30 watt marshall combo to my audio interface, then through a tape deck. from the tape it went into my pc's microphone input. I've been using that method a lot and I get some really cool sounds from the tape deck.

You need to work on how you are recording the vocals, they don't match the track, work on the eq processing. You can scoop off the bottom end and sound more radio and tinny. But you can probably make them sound a bit closer to your sample.

Sounds better, inflect more on the hook though. You sound better in the verse than the hook. The hook sounds too monotone. I like it overall though. Be a little bit more Richie Rich at the hook. I get that you are trying to sound chill and detached, but you need a bit more inflection. The sound is much better though.

i used a virtual dj program and put together a playlist of songs that i think would go well together
then i pressed record and play and the first song played
then i would mix and mash as smoothly as i could to make the next song blend continuously and it does that for the whole playlist until it ends and that is my attempt at making it sort of a live playlist. something you can listen to uninterrupted. i make them for me but i figure i might as well show these kinds of sounds to other people

In a couple of weeks I plan on recording an album myself at home
This may be the wrong place to ask, but I have 2 questions:
1. I am using a 10 dollar Mic from micro center, do I need a better one or will this do? (I could only drop 20ish dollars on a new mic)
2. How does one go about adding drums to an album without a kit? Is there a good program or some free domain drum samples online somewhere?
