In this thread we share albums that are not very well known which we want to share with the world.
The album cover, a short description and a sample will be enough. Download link is optional.
>I LOVE WHEN THE DOWNLOAD LINK IS OPTIONAL xD
have you ever been to a sharethread?
>>65450195
Picked this up in a lofi pop bandcamp thread earlier, pretty killer
https://theonlypersonontheplanet.bandcamp.com/releases
>>65450195
So this is basically a sharethread? Why not just go to the actual one
>>65450195
This is a great one but the band has been awol since 2013
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9INO6a3LkWw
>>65450293
This is for almost-unknown albums dude, not the same ~100 mu talks about all the time
https://theseconds.bandcamp.com/album/monstro
I personally like this, but the band hasn't released anything for a while. Apparently, they still do live performances though
>>65450351
sharethreads aren't that. At least not the albums that I share
>>65450371
whoops, forgot cover
I remember I found this in a sharethread, I downloaded it just because I have armenian roots.
I don't really mind lyrical music but this is outstanding. It might have took a couple of listens to fully embrace it.
Her voice and the mellow organ playing in the background are incredible. It's melancholic, introspective, beautiful.

>>65450224
I have spent more time in this shithole for a span of time I'm not proud of.
"Sharethread" means it's a thread to share. There's nothing in the word that implies you should post a dl link.
>>65450293
I'm making this more practical and dynamic. I want personal albums and descriptions.
Tirestires - Shadowdog (2015)

(Not my music, by the way)
>>65450400
This is nice
What's even nicer is that you didn't post a link and I can't find this on what or soulseek and there is no working link in the archive so now I don't have a means of listening to more
Varied instrumentation, catchy and fun.. great soundscapes.
Not exactly unknown but it's overlooked here.

>>65450263
worth a download, thanks for the rec
>>65450514
I will upload it for you, which is even nicer :)
>>65450622
Thank you!
Bump for more recs

Sharethreads always have tons of obscure, interesting albums. I see stuff in those that would never get talked about on the rest of mu. I've seen some of the albums in this thread in previous sharethreads lol
This one is a weird record: electronic 80's pop, experimental, sounds cold and human at the same time. It has some hypnotic repetitive passages which are pretty interesting imao.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cqdv032mFbg
and just listen to this bizarre version of Funiculi Funicula
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYdk1BsAI2M
>>65450644
15 mins.. my internet sucks.
Andine music, not much to say. A great record.

>>65450400
Armenian, Hungarian, Greek and Bulgarian music it's all beautiful, there's a lot of sadness in their way of singing, even if you don't understand the language you can just feel their history and their suffering
i know my description is really fucking gay and cheesy but just listen to this song, it's beautifully heartbreaking
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK4c-twfn8M
>>65450727
When I typed in the album name it simply didn't load, it still isn't atm.
>>65450727
no bullying pls
folk music played with an unusual instrument (I don't remember the name right now) the player has a haunting falsetto voice and it all sounds kinda dark and creepy. I think this guy was also important for rescuing old tunes from oblivion.

>>65450725
>I've seen some of the albums in this thread in previous sharethreads lol
actually I was planning to make a thread to share things you treasured from previous sharethreads, but I felt it was unnecessarily limitating.
>>65450925
thanks! I will listen to your video now. do you know more Bulgarian music appart from Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares? I'm looking for more in the same vein.
>>65451051

Very spiritual music. It was surprising to find music for this region and be moved by it.

>>65451583
I didn't know there were so many lazy fuckers in this place. The same lazy fuckers who never contribute.
>>65451528

>>65450922

Ukrainian choral folk music.

Great singing, dramatic, folk pop.

>>65450263
Not gonna lie, was expecting amateur shit but ive listened like 5 times now

HARD MODE: no bandcamp albums
>>65452014
Really liked this man. DL link?
>>65452117
That's one of my favorites too. He's a true outsider. Some of the songs are almost embarrassingly earnest and that instrument he's playing just pushes it over the edge.
>>65451815
tfw I love bulgarian and ukrainian choral folk, but I can't see the local choir because I had an antagonistic date with one of the singers
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syVOWmLWFys
Its really slow folksy music. Really great to listen to one a rainy day when reading a book.
Earthlings? - s/t
Recorded at Rancho de la Luna (where the Desert Sessions are recorded). This band has a definitively unique sound that isn't done justice by the titles psychedelic, stoner, or alternative rock.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNlI16lhYIA
As long as some good eastern europe shit is getting posted, this is Penderecki's Utrenja. It's just the most jarring, beautiful, shocking piece of music I've ever heard. I remember the first time I listened to this and Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima, I thought to myself that all the punks, hardcore rockers, swans... all of them were done. Penderecki had them all beat, without ever touching an electronic instrument, back in 1970.

Good taste
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxl6yHFv8To
This album is great. Seazer was part of a theatre collective and his music was composed for and used in their plays. The music is always dramatic and highly psychedelic. Even his lo-fi stuff like Sealbreaking is fun to listen to.
DL should be in the archive
