I had the same experience. I went from absolutely hating them to completely loving them. The first song I heard was Inanimate Sensation, which I thought was utter trash at the time. Their music didn't even need time to grow on me, it just suddenly clicked as soon as I heard Guillotine.

In highschool I used to bag on Death Grips to all my friends that liked them, then one day I was listening to Relationship of Command and wished there was something modern that captured the same raw aggressive energy...
