Albums that you find hard to go back to because hearing them might make you relive a fucking terrible part of your life resulting in immediate suicide
everytime I listen to that album I get extreme nostalgia. It's so attached to a certain period of my life in comparison to any other album and I don't even know why.
It's like tar - it just collects all of your memories when you start listening to it

Half of Modest Mouse's discography is like that for me. On the one hand, it's probably the only thing that got me through those parts of my life, but on the other, it's hard to listen to it now because of the memories.

All the early MM albums do this desu. I would just listen to them whenever one of the albums match my current mood constantly throughout the day. I would play nothing else for a month at a time besides that one album, and it never got old. Then I'd put it back on the shelf, to come back to later when I feel like that again.
