If i were to relate it to life in general I'm not sure any one emotion is over-represented. life isn't "more dark" than light. there's no reason in particular "light hearted" music would be mediocre. Sure, with a bit of depth comes the realization of "dark" aspects of light, but its not like the ultimate depth is ultimately dark........
