Hey /gg/, noticed something odd going on with my 4003 this morning. The tuner bushings on the E and A string seem to be lifting up just a bit. Took a picture of it but it's fairly hard to see. I'm guessing humidity change caused it even though I try to prevent that. The bass plays just fine. Do any rick users have a similar problem? How do I put them back into place?
>>
>>65388604
Can you post a pic of the other side? Generally these don't need to be very tight though. No need for concern. I'd still try to correct it so they don't get any looser though.
>>
>>65388662
By the other side, I mean the back of the tuners. Sorry.

Best color for a fretless strat (rosewood fretboard)?

I'm building one and thinking Burgundy Mist Metallic.

I'm still working on the tele, there's loads of pics in the archive. Maybe I should have put something in the name field for those to be easily searchable. Anyways right now it's all only over the last 2 days or so. Been holding off on part of the routing until I can borrow a drill from my roommate.

I got a lot of input from /gg/ and decided eventually it will have a dano pup, but for now just the bucker is going in. I'll explain stuff as I go.
>>
>>65389216
I think the real problem is picking music for a collab. People are all over the place in this general when it comes to genres.

Not only that but coordinating with people can be hard when they don't exactly know what they're doing. Already tried with 3/4 people, I couldn't imagine doing it with more

It might be a good idea to do it like this: Decide on a key and chords, and whoever wants to contribute adds one chorus or verse to it. Yeah, it'd be one extended guitar solo but it'd be fun. Just require use of a metronome.

Just got my boring-ass MIM Strat ~30 minutes ago after UPS chucked it on my porch and dashed. Dude fucked up the box and I'm surprised the guitar isn't damaged.

Are there any regular single coil-sized P-90s that I could put in the bridge? I know Phat Cats exist but I don't like the HSS aesthetic.

u could also just make a really nice parts caster for under 1000 really easily

get a Fender neck off reverb or Ebay, a nice USA one should cost around 400.

Body can be some cheapo thing, even Warmoth bodies are pretty inexpensive-$150

That leaves 450 for hardware

50 tuning machines
100 for bridge plate/electronics/misc

300 for some really nice pickups, or even just get some AVRI pickups, a set is 85 bucks and sound awesome.

contact Pete Biltoft at Vintage Vibe pickups, he'll build anything you want for around $80-$100 (single coil)

http://www.vintagevibeguitars.com/windows/sc_90Win.html
>>
>>65390002
Those are good too but the AVRIs are on a whole different level of quality. The good thing is though you can find the classic series for around $500 a good choice for that price.
>>
Is it possible for your pickups to get fucked up by dust?
>>
>>65390020
Single coil-sized p90s don't sound a whole lot like p90s, sorry to say. The shape of the p90s is pretty relevant to their sound. If you want something with more complex character in the bridge, but don't need the p90 thickness, you can get a single coil with non-magnetic pole pieces and a bar magnet on the bottom. It'll sound something like the frequency response of a single coil, the harmonic content of a p90... more of less. You're seeing a smaller portion of string inside the magnetic field so you'll have more clarity than a p90... Not exactly desirable for harmonic content. Also, something overwound should help. Keep in mind this is all theory on my part. I do have a single coil like I described in a telecaster, though the ferrous bridge plate really disrupts the magnetic field. I find it sounds a lot more like a telecaster than a p90.

If you want thickness a single coil sized humbucker is a better bet. That has the same issue with low harmonic content though. Not that it's a bad thing, in fact, it's awesome. But it's not the quirk of a p90.

thanks. somehow i never ran across this on google. i'm just really not a huge fan of the bridge strat sound and want something that'll do thick fuzz well.
>>
>>65390392
if i did do something like a phat cat would it also not sound like a real p90?
>>
>>65390384
I don't think so. Humidity, on the other hand, definitely will.
>>
>>65390384
no. The only thing that can kill your pickup is a bad solder joint or damage to the coil wire though corrosion or physical trauma. Metal dust can make a pickup micro phonic but it takes a lot. Won't happen unless you get a bunch of fret shavings in the coil.
>>
>>65388505
Amateur Friday? All the pros are out gigging and we amateurs play stuff and rate each other? There's very little playing going on in general, we could encourage beginners to record themselves and try to improve.
>>
>>65390445
Humbucker sized p90s do sound like p90s. I wouldn't want a cover though. GFS makes a variety of these. But if you're gonna do routing, you might as well just put a p90 in. It'll look cooler.

>>
>>65391037
Pretty good. Compare it to the g5n to see which you like better first. I have a g3x and while the features are great, the amp sims are a bit weak. The g5n has overhauled amps and effects. It offers less effects but higher quality. Anyway It's near your price so I'd check it out. I will say Boss does a better job with pedals, downright amazing realism, but it's so shit with amps you really should only get it if you're planning on recording it with a real amp and mic.
>>
>>65391101
waste of money

you always wind up liking like 1 or 2 things with multis and then start lusting after individual pedals that suit your needs better

Absolutely not, this particular bender mechanism is huge, doesn't leave much room after the bridge and I couldn't imagine it fitting over top.

But with enough fucking around you can do anything you want. I say if you're going to do some crazy like that go all out, find a random piece of steel, screw it to the guitar below the mechanism with at least 4 screws, have it extend beyond the end of the guitar, and mount one of the smaller Bigsby trems like the B50 onto the steel plate. Lonnie Mack didn't give a fuck that his Flying V wouldn't fit a Bigsby, he put one on anyway.

Check out pic related, do it like this, it would be hilarious and you'd be the only person on Earth with it. If you don't I will.

Squire Affinity Tele + Orange Crush 12 for £150, Y/N?

I uploaded that. There was another guy in the last thread who said he had 2hu sheet music.

just trimmed. Kept the pickup holes tight, maybe some silver shows through but I wanted as complete shielding as possible there.
>>
How the fuck do I tune this? I bought it thinking it'd be decent for my shitty experimental band but the tuner's won't even tighten/loosen.
>>
>>65393747
Good deal, but if it's not a package you can get a better guitar at the same price. Affinity is fine but not great for "growing with the player" by upgrading parts, since you generally don't want to have to upgrade the neck. Can work though, so if it's a package go for it.

Not a package, it's one seller and I figure I could get them together for that price. They want around £100 for the Tele and £70 for the amp.
What would be some better options (guitar-wise, I'm not that fussed about an amp right now)?

>>
>>65394199
Harley benton ones are good. Tend to have strong necks, and on average about the same fretwork. Most of them have Wilkinson pickups, which are pretty decent. They have bad potentiometers, swap them. Cheapest part of the guitar, so I dunno why they cheap out there. Hardware varies between models. The tele bridges are good.

Definitely a guitar that you can keep and just replace parts as needed. No reason to have to sell later. When you get good enough to want better fretwork, get the fretwork done.

When holding the thumb behind the neck, they say to keep your wrist totally straight. Is a slight bend okay? That guy seems to have a slight bend.
>>
>>65395898
You don't need to be completely straight, it's ok to bend a bit. There's two main reasons (from experience) to do it.
Better reach and clarity in the chords (depends on how long your fingers are, but in general it helps).
Comfort, after a long playing session your wrist/forearm will thank you the more straight is kept.

Hey /GG/, very beginner here, I'm currently using an old cheap acoustic that I'm not extremely motivated to play (I still love it and want to learn) and I want to get my first electric.
I really don't know what I like but I think jaguars are super cool, would a squier jaguar be fine for a beginner?
This would be played at very low volumes on a cheap bass amp, by the way.
>>
>>65398227
they are DPDT vertical switches... So, sort of. I dunno if they would actually fit in a fender. It's kinda funny, these things are like $5 a pop if you get then from a guitar company. They cost me $5 for 10.

>inb4 tone switches
I actually saw a guy switch out the switch on his squier jazzmaster for a switchcraft® switch. He had to drill new holes and everything. What a dumbass.
>>
>>65398359
Long story short, anything works. If you want a jag just be sure to put "medium" strings on it. .11 gauge. They have a trem that needs those strings to work right.

The guitars are pretty damn overpriced, since fender just sues anybody who tries to make a copy. But if style matters that much to you, it could be worth the price.

Time for cavity grounding. My autism got me and I smoothed out the aluminum foil, a totally unnecessary step. I'm gonna take a few photos of my attempt since I've noticed a lack of media online about shielding with aluminium foil. Copper is easier to work with and tears less easily, but doesn't shield as well, so this will be difficult but hopefully yield good results.
>>
>>65398967
They make a thick ass aluminum tape for ducts. Would prob work well for that. Already all smooth too.
>>
>>65397874
you gonna route that pickup cavity with a dremel?
>>
>>65398900
The MG drive channels are good, but they aren't tube tones at all. They are all dynamic distortion circuits, meaning they clip differently based on input level, but they aren't modelers. As far as I know they are all analog circuits, the reverb being digital. That is a world of difference from a modeling amp like the cube. Most people prefer modeling amps. You should try both, though most people will prefer the cube.
>>
>>65398967

>>
>>65399157
Used is never a bad idea. Just make sure it works right. If you aren't that knowledgeable yet, perhaps bring someone you trust as knowledgeable.
>>
>>65399157
Well, since you're open to it, here's my advice. Get a guitar without a tremolo. You won't miss it and it hinders starting players. Get a guitar with more than one kind of pickup. You don't know what you want out of your guitar when you start, the best remedy for that is to get a guitar that can do a lot. Also, get a cheap guitar. Get something with a good neck, but you don't want to feel guilty about not playing your guitar enough or not being good enough to justify the purchase. You want practice to be fun. Finally, get something you love the look of. You can always repaint but at least get a body shape that looks cool to you. It's a huge part of being satisfied with your gear and focusing on playing.

Those are the general guidelines I give anybody. For specific brands and such go to talkbass, guitarnuts2, and such. There's a number of great heap guitars out there.
>>
>>65399360
Why? You can just unscrew the tremolo
>>
>>
>>65399390
Yeah, you can block certain tremolos. If you know how to disable your tremolo that can work.
>>
>>65399390
Not him but tremolos in cheap guitars are almost always shit and hinder tuning stability. Something that is kinda a pain when you are starting.
>>
>>
>>65399420
Dont you just need to remove it? Like all it does is lift the end so unscrew it
>>

>>
>>65399360

>>
>>65389594

>>
>>65399528

That's as much as my guitar, I didn't realize you could actually break a string when tuning, I was just looking for the right pitch.
>>
>>65399566
Just be careful the next time.
>>
>>65399514

>>
>>65399566
Also, breaking a string is dangerous. Def Leppard lost an early guitarist during a tuning accident. His poor mother had to bury her own son. It was a bloody shame. A broken string can snap at your face with the strength of 7 guillotines all falling at once! Be more careful next time!

I mean besides the JC-120 and Blues Cube (is it true ss or does it have a modelling part?), and I guess the MG Marshall line.
There's a ton of amps with ss circuits but do have a software modelling side, and I'm not counting those.
I already have a tube amp, but I'd like a nice simple ss amp for clean playing and overall simple jamming.
>>
>>65399692
Orange OC series are fucking dank. All solid state. They got that classy PUNCH that SS amps have

>funny how as soon as SS amps disappear people start to like them... just like tube amps

It's the nostalgia value, really. What else was actually good besides the Jazz Chorus and maybe the Randall RH100 depending on if you're into metal or not.
>>
>>65399526
Yeah I'm lacking in the friends department too. I just thought maybe you weren't, so you wouldn't get ripped off. Maybe act somewhat unstable, so they're afraid of ripping you off.

> inb4 implying "acting" unstable is necessary
>>
>>65399692
Quilter's entire line is absolutely fantastic.
>>
>>65399692
Honestly, they aren't that common BUT... Cheaper amps are getting steadily better. The reason there's so few true SS amps besides cheap shit right now is that the gap is steadily closing between cheap shit SS and high end SS. And really, even the old stuff is pretty good.

So i dunno any true SS, but I would be wary of any boutique bull SS amps.

Gonna add some Elmer's glue to the cavity and put this in. The glue isn't really that necessary so I'll be sparing. Takes forever to dry but I see no reason to wait for it to dry.

Yeah. Tuning stability and shit. My FR guitars always get same size strings, same tunings. No need for major adjustments. I got a guitar without a tremolo just so i could do alternate tunings or put fat strings on and downtune without having to adjust everything

I think it's because of how the generation grows.

For example, when I was a kid, I had a shitty bedroom ss amp, so I longed for high quality tubes like my "heroes" I guess. Then I grow up and get a tube amp, which I absolutely adore, it really does sound great especially with a nice chain of effects.
And it's all fine and dandy except you can't play at nice volume for tone (because tubes) with an over 5W tube amp if you have neighbors, so you realize you either need a 0.5 W tube amp for bedroom playing, or a solid state that doesn't suck.
SS amps are simple as it gets, and they are clean and work nicely at respectable volume.
But this is a realization that you come to after you grow up, so now that I'm grown up and know what I want and need, the market has shifted to another kind of consumer.
Also, why ss over modelling... if bad ss can't take some kinds of pedal effects, modelling amps are incredibly bad at it.

>>65399774
Marshall, Roland, Peavey for guitar imo. There weren't many great ss amps since they were considered the cheap option so not a lot of development was put into them, besides those few brands. It sounds weird talking about fucking up an SS circuit, but I did have many middle tier ones and many broke besides the ones listed.
And I do play metal, but for overdrive I still like tubes best.

>>65399981
This pretty much. I use the ones with solid bridges for changing or dropping tune on the fly, I can fit whatever kind of strings without issues, etc.
The FR one needs to be babysat, and thank god FR come with fine tuners in the trem, because just a slight change of anything and you need to retune every single time.

Regular tremolo wouldn't be bad. Just dont get a floyd rose to start with. The thing with tremolos without locknuts is they tend to go out of tune easily when you use it. They are fun to make noise with, esp when you're just learning

SX furrian. Great guitar btw. Lasted me 3 years before wanting to do fret work, then 1 more till I got around to it. Killer p90 in the neck. Bridge is heavy, shiny, and ferrous. What more could you want?
>>
>>
>>65400444
Check where the kneck meets the body for chips, that tells you iof the guitars fallen over. Then play through on an amp, every note on all pick up settings, make sure it sounds right on each one.

Most important, look down the neck and make sure its not warped, if it is just say no, no matter what.

check for scratches and shit, try to take the price down based on this. aim for like 66% retail if in good nic, if its beaten up aim for 40%.

Also know your options; dont get gios, axl sound meh, sx are garbage tier. Also know that spending that little bit more now will save you cash in the future.
>>
>>65400444
It's hard to give advice to someone that knows nothing or has any experience because what we tell you might make no sense at all.
But here it goes:

Obviously check that it plays through an amp, otherwise wiring is dead.
Check for other obvious things such as wood chips, paint chips, broken parts glued together again (you can see a line), bad repair jobs, mismatched parts, etc.
Now, tips I can give you...
So, to check something important, check the first fret.
Like, how high the string is above the first fret, if it's too close or basically sitting down it can mean two things: Neck is bend over (can be set up) or the Nut is filled too much or bad (can be repaired but costs).
Second, plug it in an amp, and move all the switches and knobs you can while letting a bit of sound go through. If it scratches you might need to put some contact cleaner in them, if they outright fail or give too much buzz or have a false contact, it's either badly grounded or bad in general.
Do you know how to play a chord?
Play it, is it comfortable?
Now, grab the neck like a baseball bat with your fretting hand. While keeping it closed (but not extremely tight) run it through the neck up and down like you're masturbating slowly.
Do the frets feel like they are eating your flesh, or just bumping lightly? or maybe outright preventing you from moving the hand? If it's bad, that needs repair, if it's just normal bumps then it's normal, a bit of sharpness is normal in cheap guitars but never too acceptable.
Run a finger over every single note on the neck, you can do it quickly just make sure you can hear it ring ok... if it buzzes a lot in many places then it's the bent neck, but if it doesn't and only buzzes or loses sound in very specific places (like say, the 5th fret 1st string) then it might be a fretjob problem.

Anyway, just walk away from anything that needs repair, set up can be done, but repair is not worth it.

What's your budget, might as well buy new.

My precious

If you're looking for a bass, I HIGHLY recommend.
>>
>>65401019
I'm aiming to find a nice used Telecaster
>>
>>65401134

Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass if you're wondering. A dream to play.
>>
>>65401173
If it doesn't have rotosounds, then you're doing it wrong.
Play some limelight, bastille day, or anthem.
>>
>>65401020
about 400 canadian.

my guitar level is intermediate. My timing is good and my chord game is strong. I'm working on soloing, scales, etc. I've played live once (backed by actual musician friends who made me look great)
>>
>>65401134
Nice, I think the old one like the one you got looks way better than the new one they just put out
>>65401199
Double dubs aside, Rotosound strings blow unless you change them every week
>>
>>65401199

I alternate between rotosounds and ernie's depending on what band I'm playing in.

Rotosounds for the band I can be good in. Ernie's for me having to be a boring, root not piece of shit.

>>
>>65401235
Really? I have had my last pair for half a year already I think, and they are as bright and punchy as ever. Ok, maybe a bit more tame, but they are still great.
My DRs on the other hand lost sound, tone, everything basically after like 3 months. And they were expensive as shit.
I still use the DRs though for >>65401249 exactly the same reason. The DRs are so muted and dead now even after washing/boiling/etc. that they work well as a "corner bassist" kind of deal. With the rotos I can't help but feel like jamerson (even if jamerson liked muted strings) or geddy lee and rip some fat ass lines.

>>65401219
Well, you said you're looking for a tele.
The Squier Classic Vibe Tele is superb imo. Frets on the small side (maybe I'm just used to extra sized jumbo frets) but the quality is great and looks and feels good.
It's pretty popular right now for the same reason.
If it's out of reach (maybe they bumped the prices) a Made in Mexico should be cheap af used and has good quality. Just check that it isn't damaged and it plays all the notes in the fretboard.
>>
I just keep routing more and more... I'm really nervous about shorting the circuit via the cavity ground, so I want some clearance. I'll probably put some tape over the cavity ground in this area, just in case.

Also, I've realized an issue with my pickup configuration. Normally, the wiring on a strat can be tight because the pickups are attached to the pickguard. But if I want to remove my pickguard there will need to be slack between the pickups and the pickguard. Well, it's not a big deal, but I can see why the stratocaster moved to having all the pickups attached to the guard.
>>
Opinions in surf strats? Would old Danelectro pickups or the expensive Seymour Duncan lipsticks be better?
>>
>>65401424
Rotos die notoriously fast, I gave up on them and switched to D'addario, since they have same tone for me, cost way less, and last much much longer. DR strings last even longer so I find that odd, unless they were nickel. Also Rotosound tone and Jamerson tone are complete opposite ends of the spectrum
>>
>>65401770
GFS makes lipsticks, just get those. It's the most simple pickup design of all time. Just a magnet wrapped in wire. The seymour duncan pups are a ripoff.
>>
>>65401797
Yeah, I just meant that I feel inspired when I play them.
Dunno, my rotosounds have lasted, or their dead sound is still good for me at least.
Nah, the DRs were High Beams I bought for a show, they look cool but other than that I disliked the sound. Maybe it's the coating.
And since I'm not in need for new strings, I'm cool, but I'll try D'addario next time.
>>
>>65401928
Rotosound strings do have a decent sound when they die out so it could be that. Were they High Beams or the Black Beauties? DR High Beams aren't coated iirc. Also I know what you mean, certain basses and tones do tend to do that. I have a bass with constant fresh rounds on it for shows and recordings for when I want that sound, and then I got another bass strung with flats and it definitely brings out those old school Jamerson vibes in my playing
>>
>>65402057
High Beams, Neon. Currently they are unloaded so I can't show their lack of everything, especially volume... I even thought the bass didn't have enough output at the time. They are also huge, which on an Ibanez bass is kinda clunky, the SR line definitely is more guitar-like so thinner gauges fit better and maybe that also influences my perception of the DR Neon HBs.
Talking about that Jamerson vibe, the DRs now work for that because of how dead they are, I don't even clean them anymore for that "funk in the gunk" jamerson quote.
>>
>>65390635
>>65391029

Holy fuck, that sounds sweet as shit. I fucking wish my fuzz box could make something that good. Seriously, what do I need to get to have a tone like that?
>>
The bass contour meme. Gray is pickups, White goes to volume. Unlike a tone pot leaking to ground, the signal must pass through this pot before it reaches the jack. That's why the other anon couldn't get this to work. (I think).
>>
>>65402327
You might have better luck with the DR High Beams that aren't coated, I found those strings to be pretty good and have a long shelf life. I have tried most the major strings out a few times from each of the big bass string companies, and those were a very good quality set
>>
>>65402802
Man, I wish I could afford to try out a bunch of different bass strings. Chose mine based on online videos. Well, I'm happy with them. It'd be fun to try everything though.
>>
>>65403005
Yeah, did it way back when with some savings and a tax return, bought around a dozen sets, and ran them through the same rig set flat and the same bass, and kinda judged all the factors that mattered like tension, roughness, eq focus, and of course string life. To their credit, fresh Roto steels were amazing sounding but they just died way too fast, so I went with the closest set to that tone that lasts (D'addario Prosteels) and have been using that for a few years now
>>
>>65403146
Haha, that's what I use too. Poorfags win again.
>>
>>65403146
>>65403166
>prosteels
I use standard Daddario nickel wounds. I never liked pure steel strings, way too harsh and zingy and they eat frets if you do lots of bends.
>>
I wanna join my school's jazz club but I don't own a big hollow box, only a pointy RG.

What should I do? I hate big hollow boxes
>>
>>65403493
You can play jazz on pointy guitars, anon. The shape of a guitar doesn't dictate the genre it can be used for.
>>
>>65403489
Do you bend a lot on bass?
Also, am I the only one who doesn't rip his frets? How do you guys bend or what do you do to file them down? I've owned guitars for years and none have flattened frets like some used ones I've seen.

>>65403493
Hollow out the RG and point it tobacco 3 tone sunburst.
>>
>>65403489
They do eat up frets faster, and I do admit nickels sound great but steels have always just worked better for me, though my bass has SPB3s in it and is a bit on the darker side tonally which might explain it
>>
>>65403525
Yes, I do bends quite frequently. We usually don't have a tremolo so that's one of the ways you get vibrato on bass (also quite important in jazz and funk). Also, slap and galloping, all of those aren't very nice to your strings and frets.
>>
>>65403525

>hollow it out

Would a thin line telecaster portray the jazz nerd look?
>>
Hey guys, I need some help picking out a starter bass amp. I have about 150 to spend, 200 at the most. Right now all I really do is practice at home and occasionally jam with a friend that plays guitar. I've played guitar for a while but I don't really know what to look for in a bass amp. If it helps I like playing shoegaze mostly.
>>
>>65403586
Whenever I tried steel strings (or even brand new nickels) I tend to EQ out that zing, so they're probably just not for me. I actually prefer my strings when they're mellowed out and I'd use modern flats if they were usable for slap.
>>
>>65403708
Anything that's loud enough will probably be fine. Bass amps are very simple, and for jamming with a guitarist or practice you really just need something with a decent EQ and adequate volume.
>>
>>65403592
You're right, I just checked my bass and it does have fret use. But my guitars don't... funny. I guess the heavier gauge and the fact that use I steel on the bass but nickels on the guitars.
Btw what do you do with grinded frets?
I've only had it for... 5 or 4 years only, so it's not bad, but in the future it might need fret service. Do you replace them?

>>65403668
Even a normal telecaster https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDuee6blvj8
But if you were serious in your post, an RG is not bad at all for Jazz, I see it used here in the jazz scene a lot. I would use it, just dial the volume knob down a bit and that's it.
>>
>>65403760

I need more wattage than I would on a regular guitar amp, right? I'm not going to be playing any shows or anything, I just don't want to be drowned out by guitar and possibly drums. Is 50 a good place to be at?
>>
I'm a complete amateur
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4ehv340ohdah8cz/AADau1GCxR4ge3xVFxXHcdDla?dl=0

But I don't understand why my E cord is making this shitty noise when I'm playing it. Is it supposed to happen? If not how do I fix it?
>>
>>65403830
E string*
>>
>>65403821

Actually 50 watts seem to be mostly out of my price range, I'll probably just end up getting a smaller practice amp and try to buy used.
>>
>>65403817
If the frets are big enough you can re-crown them, less effort than completely removing them. If they're completely wrecked, yeah they'd need to be replaced.
>>65403821
Yes, correct. But it really depends on the speaker and how efficient it is, with a single 12'' or 15'' speaker (or several smaller ones) I'd try to get close to 100W if possible if you want to play with a drummer.
>>
>>65403830
Fretbuzz, you have to set the height of the string and the curvature of the neck right to avoid it.
>>
>>65403712
I get that, I like the sound of fresh rounds alot, but I also like the sound of broken-in flats, got one bass for each to solve the dilemma of which to use
>>65403708
>>65403821
If you can find one, the Acoustic B100 combo amp is really good for that. I used one in my first band when we only did garage jamming, the amp sounded pretty good and was more than loud enough to hang with two guitarist and a drummer. Also if you pair it with a Sansamp it sounds pretty good too
>>
>>65403982
Still better than liking the specific sound of fresh flats. 50 bucks per string set every few weeks is painful.
>>
>>65403982

Thanks man, I'll look into that definitely. I have an Acoustic guitar amp that I really love, so I'll definitely try to find that. I see a B100 online for $150, but the shipping puts me a little over my limit.I'm reading some reviews though, and a lot of people are saying that it blows out easily.
>>
>>65403862
looked for used peavey or acoustic rigs. A peavey basic 60 will beat drums and eardrums and those go anywhere from 50-70 dollars.
>>
>>65404062
Fresh flats is the only objectively bad sound in all of music. Every noise audible to the human ear has a musical context except for the sound of fresh flatwound strings. You fucking degenerate.
>>
What's a good amp head for a post-black/blackgaze tone? I was thinking about an Orange Rockerverb 50 MKII
