i think the former side is fighting inside the bounds of society and the latter side is looking outside the bounds of society into the inherent absurdity of most (not all, obviously the average woman's body shape is fairly different from the average male body shape, and something like a bra is clearly gendered [unless you are a fat guy]) gendered clothing/colors
so like the former is saying "this is what defines a girl in your mind and so you should try to be like that if you want to" and the other side is saying "society made parts of that definition for you". i dont think these are inherently conflicting stances, because you can realize the one but still accept that, even though society shaped your picture of what a woman is, that is still what you want to be

i definitely see what you are saying and i do agree to an extent, though when it comes to colors i dont know. i know there have been interesting studies done on male and female babies where the female babies would play with different toys than the male ones, but i havent personally read/heard-of any studies about color (though i bet they exist). essentially i just cant agree or disagree when it comes to that. i still think there is a degree of arbitrariness to clothing (i mean, even within genders the clothing styles change dramatically as time goes on) and also a degree of gendering that makes sense (i mentioned earlier the bra and the general difference between the male and female form). however to really go on and talk about this i would need to be a lot more well informed than i am now, because i know very little about historical clothing etc. i did enjoy thinking about this stuff though and i think you make a good point so thanks
