This album is finally starting to click with me, what does /mu/ think?
Perfect example of an album that really needs to click on a personal level for you to appreciate it at all.

Better than anything Modest Mouse has done
>>65346618
I hope it didnt take long
>>65346999
It took me a good 5 or 6 listens
>>65347021
thats alright then. They are my favorite band, It was love at first listen
Probably my favorite album ever. Heard it for the first time at a really young age so it didnt have to "click". I just thought they were really catchy fun songs.

Same here. There isn't much to "get" in the first place. The album is great first listen
>>65346618
>tfw you will never hear this album in good quality
i know, i know, lo-fi is part of its charm and all that shit, but still... it's sad
>>65346618
I loved this album on the first listen, but all their other albums for some reason take a lot of listening. It's weird, you have to learn to like the parts as they come since there's almost no repetition in it.

so lucky
their band name is better than any music they've put out
Can anyone rec some music similar to them?
Only ones I found were
>Car seat headrest
>pavement
>>65347133
This is the stupidest thing I've read in a long time
I think Bee Thousand is perfection desu. Really connects with me on a personal level. Every song has something spiritual to it.
Reminder that Propeller is the best GBV album

I love this album
top 3 tracks are
>Hardcore UFOs
>The Goldheart Mountaintop Queen Directory
>I am a Scientist

Highly recommend Tobin Sprout's solo work. Like a more melancholy GBV. His songs were always my favorite GBV songs personally.

Cleaners From Venus/Martin Newell if you want to go in a more pop direction but with the same lofi charm.

Not all of these sound exactly like GBV/Pavement/Care Seat Headrest but they are what I like to listen to when I'm in the mood for this particular type of music
Yo La Tengo
Built to Spill
Tony Molina
90s Weezer
Psychocandy by the Jesus and Mary Chain
Yuck
Parquet Courts/Fergus and Geronimo
>>65347779
It's close but I'd put Bee Thousand just ahead of it. My top 3 is:
1. Bee Thousand
2. Propeller
3. Under the Bushes Under the Stars
>>65347919
Bushes is their best album
>>65347903
