It's the 3nd of November.

Listen to your library, show off your backlog, babble about new music, tell us what you have been listening to today and what you will listen to in the following month, just let the good times flow.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Even though pic related is my chart, I actually listened to some world music today:
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/admas/sons_of_ethiopia_%E2%80%8E/
and https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/various_artists_f2/burundi__musiques_traditionnelles/

I also listened to Bowie's Heroes for the first time (of course I'd heard the title track before though) and was interested in how contrasting the first and second sides of the album were; he didn't do that so much with Low.

Dear shamepai,

If this is a ruse, it's been a very amusing and memorable one and I find your dedication almost admirable.
If it isn't, and you legitimately do not see anything strange about your way of posting (and probably by extension your way of interacting with people irl), I strongly suggest that you get some mental help because this is simply not healthy at all. I don't even mean this in a mean-spirited way, you just come off incredibly unstable (possibly disordered) and some sort of professional help might help you get back on track.
Furthermore, this is a general in which we tend to playfully shit on each other's tastes and if every anime-related remark causes you to fly off the handle this intensely, you might wanna consider leaving, if only for your fucking blood pressure.

Love, anon.

You managed to trigger me. Con fucking grats. Listen up you dipshit, SDC is nowhere near being the worst Poster. I'm talking objectively here. There is absolutely and i say ABSOLUTELY no way that one of The most developed, well Made, and thoughtfully designed shitposters in the whole thread could be the worst poster. Fucking terminus on the other hand is some next fucking level trash, like Jangle bitch. Dogwander had an azong attitude, a really traguc backstory, and an interesting personality. If you ever talk shit about SDC then i'm guessing you never even watched the thread you twat, or just weren't paying attention, like the braindead retard you are. Second of all, you fucking missed the whole point of Letov. Yes the Russkiboo thing wasn't necesary but Letov wasn't entirely about them, but about MAKING FISH and CO TALK TO EACH OTHER AGAIN. Not only that but IT SOLIDIFIED NAT X GIVINGBEAR. Also, i don't love Dogwander Because i'm a mizutanifag, as i can appreciate many types of Boys, but it was the deep carácter He has, and his beautiful nose even an ass man like me could appreciate. Fight Songs - EP.png
177 KB, 300x300
Just listened to this and thought I'd give a quick review

>The For Carnation - Fight Songs EP
Brian McMahon and David Pajo of Slint team up with two other dudes to bring you the song "Washer" from Spiderland (or maybe "For Dinner..."?), extended over three blissful tracks. Oversimplifying it so doesn't really do it justice though. Most of the songs have a much more midwestern emo feel than Spiderland, and maybe therefore have a bit more character? The playing ranges, in typical Slint style, from very light and atmospheric to loud and heavy, to great effect. I love the very subtle field recordings on the last track (like how a bird's song can be heard a few seconds before the "birds do not care for you" line).

Each song is great, and it's really hard to say which I like best, despite their varying lengths and structures.
>Definitive 7/10

I thought of a fun idea today while I was at the flea market / thrift store.

What if we had a THRIFT STORE TOURNEY?

Everyone that enters has to go buy a CD from a thrift store that they've never heard of before. You can't know the artist, the genre, the songs... complete blind buy based on nothing but the cover.
If we get maybe 10 people then we all listen to all the records and rate them accordingly, and release the ratings one by one.

The winner is whatever album gets the highest aggregate score. I'll put up a $10 Itunes gift card in the winner's pot, and anyone else that wants to throw something in is certainly welcome.
I think it'd be fun :)

Anyone down??
>>
>>65236445
I would participate
you'd have to give me a few days though

also would blind record buys work?
if so I have something I could rec you rn, I bought it a week ago purely by the cover from a flea market and I haven't listened to it yet
>>
>>65236445
that actually sounds fucking cool, i'd be down

everyone would need to take a timestamped picture in the store though, that would be the only way to eliminate cheating
>>
>>65235916
we care about (You)
>>
>>65236525
Yes. To enter you would need a picture of the disc in-store as well as a picture of the receipt (with identifying info removed)

>>65236512
I would plan on it moving fairly slow (ie. a week to buy, and 2-3 days or so per album to keep everyone at the same pace)
Record buys work fine as long as you commit to providing everyone with a way to listen. If you can rip the record and upload it, then by all means.
>>
>>65236617
nyar and i are planning to visit a record store tomorrow anyways, we might just do this then. cool idea btw, didn't think tourneys could get any more new

I had Chick Fil A and some vegan food. It was awesome. I went to like five this morning before mine, and three after mine was done. I got hella cash and caught up with some friends I haven't seen in years.

This one dude for example was my best friend in middle school. Now he's ~6'7" and got a full ride to play football (handegg) at some college in Arkansas.

Also way more girls came than I expected.

Zappa's worst is Francesco Zappa.

My least favorite by him are (from worst to best):
>Francesco Zappa
>Congress Shall Make No Law
>Joe's XMassage
>Understanding America
>Halloween
>Thing-Fish
>Feeding The Monkeys...
>Greasy Love Songs
>Joe's Domage
>Playground Psychotics

Every one is a 3/10 or worse

And I'm not huge on The Yellow Shark, though I know some people love it.

>Can Am des Puig - The Book of Am (Parts I and II)
>Psychedelic Folk, Progressive Folk

Someone compared this to Comus the other day, which inspired me to scour the internet for a few hours looking for it. I'm glad I did.

This sounds like a combination of Comus and Taj-Mahal Travellers, which is fitting because the band's actual story seems to be something like a mix of both (Bunch of European hippies traveling Asia and playing weird ass folk music).

This is heavily vocals focused music, with a wide array of instruments from all over (A sitar and moog appear in the same track) providing a really unique sound, and then it occasionally gets into a really strange drone. It's quite unique in its beauty.

Part I is more acoustic, while Part II has more electronic and drone-y parts.

I've been looking for Parts III and IV (which were recently released), but they seem to only be available in a vinyl format that nobody has ripped yet.

Strongly recommending this if you can find it.

Noice. All my local record stores only have some guyanian or guadeloupean dancehall and zouk (which I don't care much about) and a couple MArley albums somewhere in their world music crate. Finding reggae on wax isn't easy arround here.
>also hmu with them good reggae/dub recs
Not sure I have much to rec in the first place. Try to give this a listen, it's probably onli ne somewhere. it flew under the radar since it had to wait for a bunch of 2000 reissues to get full name credits. It has the Mighty Diamonds backing some big names that tried to play anonymously (including Sly Dunbar from Sly & Robbie and Tommy McCook from the Skatalites)

Midnight Choir - Amsterdam Stranded (1998)
>slowcore, americana

Nice and melancholic album, but too long and too reliant on similar ideas. I hate to use the word "boring", but a few moments on this are definitely kinda boring and just simply not interesting to listen to. But luckily it's also /insanely/ pretty at times, and it's certainly nice to listen to. Just a shame that it's a fair bit of it is a bit of a slog.

2.5-

Blue Mountain - Dog Days (1995)
>alt-country, roots rock, americana, country rock

A chill as hell summer album to the core. Bites Neil Young a bit too often and its very much just a generic country rock album, but it's so gosh darned down to earth and enjoyable that I really don't care. Also quite a bit too long with some very obvious filler, but the good tracks are quite great. Very solid stuff.

3.0

2 more! and i changed out that one giant sand album for nashville skyline because jesus christ i'm not going to sit through another hour long alt-country record

Regression toward the mean. If we assume that quality of a given day is sampled from a Gaussian distribution, then there is an average quality of day. We also will assume that quality of a given day is independent from the quality of other days. I'm assuming from your post that today happened to be a particularly bad draw, so it sits way out on the tail of the distribution. Therefore, tomorrow will almost certainly be a better sample. While it is in fact true that it could possibly be worse, the likelihood of that happening is extremely low. So brighten up, you've got statistics on your side.

hampus would be the strict, but secretly loving, boss of the local bar that everyone hangs out at.

!!! REQUEST !!!

I'm seeking a song in the "electro house" or "trap" genre (I really don't know) that samples Sade's "Is it a crime?" during the bridge of the song. Please help.

i feel like torts and bear would share a room.

Bear said that Torts, SDC, Aqam, and Striped Socks are the only original /daily/ boys left so they could share a room

>play their music louder on their stereo

I feel as though it would be Musical Abortions or Voices of North American Owls nonstop after a few days.
>>
>>65242982
I seem to be remember liking original Pekinese Opera more than 1.28. I should listen to them again sometime
>>
>>65243527
Well Jangle did actually do that with Musical Abortions.
>>
>>65243542
I definitely have to hear the original soon. How different is it from 1.28?
>>

I wanna call it love is a great song, and the fact that you zeroed in on that song makes me thing you may really enjoy the rest of his work. If want more that is jazzy like that, Duper Sessions is the record for you (it's the record I wanna call it love is from- a bunch of jazz standards and some originals). But, if you want more of a taste of Sondre's songwriting, Heartbeat Radio is really stellar and has a lot of strings, making it similar to that song.

I would much sooner recommend heartbeat radio actually, duper sessions is good but I don't listen to it NEARLY as much as heartbeat radio

But also happy not to have some word I don't understand identifying me

>>65243573
I do not remember the specifics, honestly. I think 1.28 is more turntable-based or maybe it is the other way around. That might be why I like the original more, actually. More Otomo on the original. Consume Red is still my favorites Ground Zero, though.
>>
>>65243658
If capitalism helps me now, I'm not only going to stop the communist memeing but will start capitalist memeing instead.

If that's not capitalistic, I don't know what is.
