I always am kind of glad an act like them exist just to have something different. Most of what they put out is always hit and miss for me personally, though I haven't evaluated their entire discog or anything like that. The live show they did at Ultra last year looked fucking sick and hilarious though.
As for Chappie that one's tough for me at least. Overall the film isn't that great, but it's not horrible. They basically play themselves and listen to their own music but only as actual criminals.
At the very least the film has some redeeming qualities, especially some of heavily technical scenes but the sub-par acting from Yolandi and Ninja hold the film back in a lot of ways.

As a fan of them, I would've agreed with you up until I listened to some of the tracks from Suck on this. They just felt tame and uninteresting to me.
