Here's the thing - rap is FUNDAMENTALLY about gangbanging, shooting people, getting shot, etc. The whole "beat" structure is supposed to invoke the sharp blast of gunshots.
But England has very few shootings. Something like 30 people in the ENTIRE COUNTRY are murdered by gunfire in any given year, compared to over 11,000 in the US.
So of course it's going to sound ridiculous and inauthentic when someone from a non-gangbanging country tries to emulate gangbanger music.
Imagine if an American band costumed themselves in the old Ming Dynasty style and did a Chinese opera album. It would also seem ridiculous. It's just not the right format for them.
