smashing pumpkins or my vitriol are my favorites
they're sort of alt rock-y but have the same wall of sound sensibility

It has a few good bands OP but honestly isn't a very good genre as a whole. Check out Kinoko Teikoku and Toyko Shoegazer's first album though.

Beach House isn't a shoegaze band by any means but they have all the things i love about dream pop and occasionally shoegaze. the blend is wonderful

From there I'd say Fleeting Joys
Then get into My Bloody Valentine
You might as well just start with Loveless if you haven't already, but I'd recommend Deerhunter - Halcyon Digest as something you don't want to miss. Also seconding the Beach House rec, not shoegaze but dream pop with excellent songwriting.
