Why is it so overrated?

Mogwai is my favourite band and I agree, it's my least favourite album by them, even though Tracy is one of my favourite songs ever.

I still like it, but to be honest, I imagine it was probably more interesting when it came out. The amount of Post-Rock bands that basically mined the style of this album for all its worth is massive, and as such it's made this album seem a bit watered down in retrospect, when at the time it was pretty innovative in the Post-Rock scene.

yeah it is overrated though, they have better releases

Rock Action is their most underrated release. Take Me Somewhere Nice is the song that got me into post-rock.

Good point, but I believe bands and albums shouldn't be rated including what came after- and from them. The innovativity still stands, and as such I think it's a great album. Granted I listened to it last like a year ago.

i used to be into them but i can't remember what a single song of theirs sounds like anymore
