I've become really bored with rock music in the past few years, so it was exciting when I couldn't stop listening to this album. I haven't stopped listening to it for about 2~ years now. There is not a song on this cunt that I will skip. It's unfortunate that I don't really dig their newer stuff.

perfect album
This whole album just has a really strange, even subtly eerie tone for me. It's the album they thought they'd never be able to make. Obviously nothing touches Baker era Mercury Rev, but I really love this record, and I think it would have been the perfect note for them to end on.

That's sort of the reason I say under-appreciated though. Here, among other places, they just get written off as a gimmicky dad-rock band led by a couple of greedy business men. But when you really dig into the music it has so many great interesting textures. They weren't the best, but they did some amazing things.
