Spotted the poseur. OP that is. Art Rock isn't a real term.

The fact that people use it to describe something makes it real

Q: What do braindance and art rock have in common?
A: They're both unreal musical terms used by pretentious fags.
>>
>>65068748
Art rock is pleb af, seriously the 6 top rated art rock albums on rym are identical to the 6 highest rated albums their.

>A: They're both unreal musical terms used by pretentious fags.

Protip: This applies to all genres.
>>
>>65068920
It isn't unreal, you could call any genre/subgenre unreal, it doesn't mean anything

>>65068924
That's because the term is thrown around willy nilly
>>
Really do need some new terms for some subgenres. A lot of rock subgenres are really vague and don't mean anything and are more just descriptors of things other than the music, like indie rock. And I mean art rock/pop is kind of a decent descriptor if it were used right but it's applied to way too many things that are different and does kind of give off an air of pretension.
