I've only heard deserve which is good don't get me wrong but I wouldn't really call it a shoegaze album

I mean they definitely bring in elements of shoegaze, not straight shoegaze by any means. More like what was happening in the mid 90's after the initial explosion. Bit more of a punk/grunge/indie rock influence. Check this out, it's off their last album, Running Back

To me, emo's strengths were always in the clarity of the guitarwork, while shoegaze pulls from it blending together. Both can be fuzzy, but emo is angular while shoegaze smooths together.

Check this out, Eric Wareheim from Tim & Eric was a guitarist in this band. Not a lot of shoegaze element but pretty nice 90's emo nonetheless
