it's not an "album genre" because the music isn't primarily distributed through the LP format but through singles, dj sets, freestyles, etc. this is a mark of grime's dancehall and garage roots, along with pirate radio. it doesn't have anything to do with whatever boring value judgments people want to make.

However, by saying that one country specifically will never understand is a weird thing to say. If it was "Albums no one outside of the UK will ever understand" there might be some merit to it, but by limiting to just Americans you would make it seem like everyone in the world except for Americans would get it, which just cannot be true.
