What are some albums that go out of their way to be unhip, obnoxious, or lame? I've got this and Song Cycle, love both.
Pet Sounds was pretty unhip and lame for it's time. It's as if that album came from a world where the counter-culture of the time never happened.
Sgt. Peppers is retro in the same way that freak out and song cycle are
fits all criteria too
