This guy knows, I was wondering if anyone on mu even knew who he was when I posted this thread.

He was such an influence for me, I find all of his music so beautiful his rendition of claire de lunes made we want to learn that song, and is one of the few songs that can bring me to tears.

I'm 20. The fact that I haven't heard of some random old jap band doesn't make me underage.

>>
I literally just learned about this guy from his wikipedia page. is it true?
>>
i was just on fb and saw hideki matsutake posting about tomita's passing, matsutake was tomita's student and i believe assisted on all of tomita's albums from the 70s until he became an in demand synth and computer programmer (most notably with ymo and his own project, logic system).

Snowflakes Are Dancing is a masterpiece, at least he died at side of his family
>>
I love those early days of synths. imagine what it would have been like for these guys first hearing those sounds and playing with them and finally making great music
>>
Fuck this is depressing
>>
sad news indeed.
>>
Out of respect i will refrain from bandwagon-jumping for 6 months. By then he'll be featured in some end of the year in memoriam montages and I'll remember he died and check him out.
