They were my mom's favorite band when I was a child so I like the tool for nostalgia.
Tool isn't for everybody . You need a certain level of intelligent's to really vibe to they're music

Great band but don't take them too seriously.
I like them. Never really had a Tool 'phase,' nor am I that familiar with all their albums, but Opiate and Lateralus are really good in the right mood. Maynard can get annoying at times (his voice mainly, not necessarily the lyrics), but I like how tight the band is. It's technical but not boring like a lot of prog metal. It's basically 90s alternative along the lines of NIN and Deftones infused with prog technicality and Led Zeppelin worship.
