I guess it's a matter of taste. I found the album to be a bit boring when I first listened to it as background noise but after giving it a throughout, attentive listening I was completely blown away by it.

those albums are nothing alike aside from being black metal. they don't even have the same goals or influences as bands
if anything they're representative of the schism between the atmospheric and the straightforward raw black metal, even if one of them seeks to step outside of that
