I think the first two thirds of You're Dead! (up until Ready Err Not) have the best mix of his jazz influences and his hip-hop influences incorporated into his own unique style, but the rest of it falls so flat. I'm the rare guy that thinks UTQC is a masterpiece though, so I'm definitely in the least popular camp with regards to his work with Thundercat.

I agree with you about the first 2/3rds of Youre Dead! being a lot better than the end. The run from Never Catch Me to Turtles is incredible, but to be honest, I think every Flying Lotus album could use a good 1/3rd chopped off of it. I'd say the shorter run time of You're Dead makes it the most consistently satisfying since the boring third doesnt last as long.
