I'm about halfway through Disc 3 at the moment, I'm thoroughly loving it. I like it much better than their earlier recordings, and I don't know why they get more praise.

I guess my favorite genres are shoegaze, post rock, and alt. rock. I enjoy most genres though. Not much of an edm guy but Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin are good.

You're in luck, I like that kinda stuff and my favorite artists are 骨架的/Skeleton and Infinity Frequencies.

I'm recommending the self-titled, Holograms, Safe and Poor Homme off of that. I'm kind of a vaporwave pleb, but Skeleton does atmosphere better than most artists I've seen. Safe is a grower of an album, and Poor Homme is best listened to in the dark. Most of his albums are short so you should have no trouble getting into most of them. If you liked most of that check out the Vibrations EP. It's weird, but I've found its been growing on me.
The Ancient Science EP of his is weird as fuck.
Infinity Frequencies Computer Death, Decay and Afterlife trilogy has great atmosphere too.

When I read this band was Progressive Rock and Chiptune I almost didn't even give it a chance. It is a extremely well composed album and doesn't fall into the "WE'RE VIDEO GAME NERDS!!11!" category a lot of Chiptune + ___ bands do. They even had the sense to segregate cover songs into an entirely separate band.
