he made interesting pop but it's hard to say that he's a genius. Piper was ruined by a few weak tracks on what could have otherwise been the greatest psych album of the 60's. His solo stuff is good but I've noticed a trend in most syd songs. (at least his closers on both Piper and Saucerful)
