The main flaws are that the album tends to retread the same territory without giving much new, and I feel like the powerful raw aggression is covering up for the songs not really providing a whole lot of depth

Thinking about it from the 3rd listen, I'm actually really digging Bottomless. Maybe more than TMS, but it's hard to decide since it only just came out to the public. A lot of Death Grips has been very aggressive but conceptual and a lot of metaphorical lyrical content before, while I think BP is scattered more in with general topics and allusion, more complex literary devices, and a bit more of a wider array of sound at their hand. This is by far the easiest I've gotten into their sound and probably one of the grooviest and versatile industrial and hip hop albums I've listened to in possibly ever. It's impressive in both a creative and terrifying scope. Loving it right and going on to my 4th listen soon to gather a few more thoughts before making my final conclusion...
Daily reminder that Niggas on the Moon is an autism test. If you like it more than any other DG album you have a touch of autism. It is objectively the least impressive and most irritating of all their releases and this is not a controversial opinion.

Bottomless Pit honestly feels like a step backwards for them. I like it and all, I don't even think there's a really weak song on there. But it's their first album that doesn't feel like a step forward or in a new direction.

I agree that it's a much more accessible album, but come on, TMS is pretty different than BP. BP is a fast and hectic side of Death Grips. Besides maybe NotM, TMS is probably their chillest record.
I personally find it refreshing to see Death Grips go back to a more accessible sound. NoTM and JD were awesome experiments, but in order to keep their oddness relevent maybe some more straight forward stuff is necessary.

I'm of the controversial opinion that their closers really aren't all that great. Hacker is the only exception where the closer track truly is goat and the cultivation of everything that came before it into a perfect and flawless execution of that albums vision and goal.
Big Dipper is a great closer on a conceptual level and is another reason why that album feels so cohesive, having the finale be all the samples breaking apart into this scattered and atonal drum solo is cool. The rest of them I don't particularly care that much for though, not bad tracks though, definitely not bad. Just not as mindblowing as their openers are.

Props for putting Voila on it, it wouldn't make my top 10, but definitely my top 15. That track is maybe their most underrated. It feels really unique compared to most of their other stuff. It operates on a totally different level from most of their tracks and the satisfaction that comes from it are in the subtler more nuanced details, the beat is at first glance nothing that ear-catching but when you listen in closely on it, it is pretty complex, and eventually those hi-hats start matching the bjork samples and they just seamlessly flow into one another.
And who doesn't fucking love that strange "OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH OH" sample, I love it when they find these really inventive ways of sampling themselves.
The main verse is another great part about it. It starts out really low-key, but that final time we have the busier drumming to match the Bjork samples on the v-drums, and Stefan's performance getting aggressive feels much more intense as a result of the lead-up.
