I'm not sure what's next for my pedal board. I feel uninspired with the current setup, but I know I definitely need some more modulation or maybe a blues driver or something.

Any suggestions homies?

>>64519096
My guitar teacher (who has a fucking shitton of pedals and guitars, jesus) does some very similar with that, I can't remember which brand he uses but he links an expression pedal into a modded boost pedal and it basically works exactly the same
>>
>>64519111
The hardest part would be finding a pedal that could use an expression pedal in such a way. probably would cost the same as a decent volume pedal tho
>>
>>64519139
That's where the modding comes in. I think he got said brand to mod his boost to fit in an expression pedal. Although apparently it's expensive as hell so it might not be the most cost effective
>>
>>64519106
>ok then leave lol

Sorry mang, not in dough.
Stupid attitude? Hmmm
better than being a bitter internet bully I guess
>>
If not playing shows and doing bedroom recording, I'd rather stick with digital effects, like GR. So much cheaper than buying pedals and then realising that I need or want something else in addition.

If the recordings are mixed properly, no one can tell the difference.

What is your problem with boss pedals aside from what you said earlier?

I haven't gone to /gg/ for a while is it some new meme to hate on them because they have quite a few fantastic pedals
>>
>>64518376
Are you autistic
>>
>>64519351
That's the thing, the way that section is structured it's borderline impossible to reach to the volume knob and get the volume to swell smoothly while playing the ascending melody. Even with a Strat.

>>64519372
From my experience they sound bad, look bad and are built bad. Just my opinion.
>>
>>64519393
>sound bad

Well short of pulling up comparisons on known similar circuit design pedals there's no way I could argue against this aside from naming a few that I believe to be quite fantastic sounding: ce-2, rv-3, dm-3, vb-2, pretty much all the digital delays

Their distortions can be quite hit and miss pertaining to the blues driver and hm-2 but I've thoroughly used the ce-2 and rv-3 and absolutely love them

Also I've never had any problems with them breaking aside from snapping a screw keeping the plate on every once in a while after absolute torture but even then it's far easier to fix than most other pedals where you need to replace the entire footswitch
>>
>>64519469
Well obviously I haven't tried every single boss pedal on the planet, most of my experience is with their distortions, delays, EQs and tuners. Their EQs and tuners are alright but their distortions are really offensively bad at points and I've never been a fan of the sound of their delays. Sounds a bit too dry IMO

>>64519522
>their distortions are really offensively bad at points and I've never been a fan of the sound of their delays

Well I'll completely agree with you on the distortions. I really quite hate the od-1, super overdrive, ds-1, metal zone, etc. I can barely tolerate the blues driver and I actually quite like the hm-2 but boss really shines in every area aside from distortions and imo I think a lot of their pitch shifters are garbage but they've got far more to offer than their duds just keep that in mind

That being said their old mij or mit chorus, phaser, reverb, delay, pedals are just fantastic and un-killable

One of my favorite examples of them was nick reinhart of tera melos. He's got a few that are real fucked up from being tortured but they're still kicking. I wish I had a picture of my old rv-3. It had a cover transplanted on it from a ge-7 equalizer after getting an amp dropped on it and half of the paint had worn off after scraping on just about everything in our basement jam space
>>
>>64519636
I once had a bassist who wanted to use a blues driver in a solo. The thing sounded like a wet fart, literally painful to listen to.

I've definitely heard some good stuff about their old MIJ models though, don't know how true that is but supposedly they aren't too bad at all.

Well yeah, Nick is pretty much a pedal guru. He can practically fix any pedal and work with nearly anything from what I've seen.
>>
Boss OD3 is actually one of my favorite drives. Can't speak for their other pedals, but fuck if the od3 isn't their most underrated gem.
