same! I fell in love with it when I was an autistic freshman in highschool in the summer of 2009 and it made me less high strung and autistic, legit changed my life trajectory.
I remember biking around everyday and discovering animal collective's post hcti discography, legit some of the greatest moments of my life. I remember feeling that life was worth living if AC was making music.
which kind of did a blow to my life when I wasn't super hot on CHz and very lukewarm about PW. Same with Slasher Flix and PBVSGR.
Hopefully they can get back to their incredibly strong songwriting again, I could care less about the aesthetic.

but hell yeah those albums are fantastic and i feel u
also listen to centipede hz again without even thinking about the reviews and shit. that album is almost as good as MPP but since pitchfork panned it for not sounding exactly like MPP nobody gave a shit
give it another serious chance
and also listen to pbvsgr again when you're really drowsy or something because that's also a fantastic album that people don't like for some bullshit reason

i been listening to them for a good long while, i've heard every studio release and most every distinct bootleg.
I like the aesthetic of PBVSGR but the songwriting to me is similar to PW, it's just kind of lazy. I like a few tracks (the last half is pretty good) but honestly I'm more of an Avey man myself. I think Laughing hieroglyphic might be the greatest song either of them have written, besides maybe street flash. But Guys Eyes is probably my favorite song of all time and that's a panda tracks so you kind of need both of them.

Hz is criminally underrated but I'd still say MPP is a touch better. I kinda feel like everything post MPP is pretty underrated, I love Slasher Flicks, PBMTGR, Hz and Painting With but I'm just a fanboy

Fall be Kind is great, and listening to it you can really tell why those didn't belong on MPP
I was a senior in highschool when Hz came out. Played that shit everyday driving to school, great album, but not as solid as I'd like from them. Painting With is good, they wrote it during recording, which I think held it back. there's some good tracks though.

I like a lot of the mainstream stuff, like Chvrches, Kaiser Chiefs, Shinedown, Celldweller, Robbie Williams, to name the most popular ones.
But i just cant get over the Epic/Trailer music. It paints a mental picture for me that is so much better than the best sci-fi fantasy i have ever seen/read.
I feel like i am retarded, because i haven't met a single person who would consider this stuff worth listening to, while i cant get over how mind-blowingly-amazing it is.

How can people like MPP so much when Strawberry Jam is so much better?
SJ has tons of Energy through out the album and the strongwriting feels way more cohesive, oh and the vocals are absolute fantastic.
