I thought it was the epitome of ridiculousness in their sound. Songs like Have a sad cum, Voila and Fuck me out all seem so goofy.
Maybe it's just cause i don't like the jittery repetitive jittery samples. But even lyrically, those songs seems to fall short.

It's an album fairly different from prior releases, which is what Death Grips has done and what they will continue to do: progress their sound. Granted, it will take a few more listens for me to really appreciate, but I justify that by acknowledging their process as artists. I personally would love more gritty and aggressive material like NLDW, as well as more of the chaotic cacophony of NOTM, but I can see that their work would get stale if they stuck to one formula. They're trying to stay ahead of their own curve, and I believe they really considered ending the project last year because of their aspirations of their project and that likely reality of inevitable mediocrity. I have enjoyed the ride thus far and I hope it doesn't end soon.

The lyricism is nice. I never understood their appeal until I listened to Need It Death Heated. Everything else from ExM was balogna to me, but I listened to that track over and over. Slowly but surely, the rest of the album started growing on me. It grew on me like a cancer, but I fed the cancer everyday.
I really enjoy the aggression, noise, and structure. It's just bananas. Black man yelling esoteric crypticisms at you, backed by fill-laden technical drumming, all over concentrated and directed electronic noise.
