France Gall - Poupée de cire, poupée de son [1965]

>yé-yé, French, most songs written by Serge Gainsbourg

Controversial winner of Eurovision 1965. Gall was allegedly booed during rehearsals due to her performance of "Poupée de cire, poupée de son" being too "pop" for Eurovision. She won the competition for Luxembourg nonetheless.

So I requested a few italo prog albums during the last few minutes of the previous episode in exchange for some south american folk.

I ended up using Soulseek and got everything else I needed but the other guy did upload two albums for me, so of course I'll return the favour:

Leda Valladares y María Elena Walsh - Entre Valles Y Quebradas, Vol.I & II, 1957

Two of the most renowned Argentine folklorists spent a few years touring the argentine northwest, collecting and recording songs representing a number of traditional styles (Zamba, Chacarera, Carnavalito, Huayno, Bagüala, Vidala, etc), and edited the bulk of it in two volumes.

This is but a humble introduction to both argentine folk and the traditional music of the Cuyo/Puna region (northwestern Argentina, northern Chile, western Bolivia and southern Perú) with an emphasis on the music from the argentine provinces of Salta, Jujuy, Catamarca and Tucumán. Strongly emotional at times, shamelessly playful at others, these two women play all instruments and sing on all tracks, intertwining their voices beautifully without losing focus of the music itself. A great "how do I into" for south american folklore.

Joel Vandroogenbroeck - Biomechanoïd
>“Biomechanoid was a Joel Vandroogenbroeck project but it sounds nothing like Brainticket [the amazing psychedelic band of which Vandroogenbroeck was the leader and songwriter]. The music was inspired by the paintings of H. R. Geiger. If you know the Swiss painter's work you'd expect this album to be rather dark, which it mostly is. The music is almost entirely electronic with occasional acoustic piano bits. The music is often more than a bit bizarre, sometimes reminiscent of Conrad Scnitzler's wilder works or perhaps Asmus Tietchens. At times you get the feeling of a science fiction B-movie soundtrack. Biomechanoid is deeply experimental stuff and definitely an acquired taste.” A much loved record among connoisseurs of early electronic psychedelia.

I've heard a bit. I think it sounds epic, but I'm more into throat singing by guys than Bulgarian singing by those, nevertheless, talented ladies. And about not knowing they were Tuvan, atleast you knew Tuva exists, so you beat probably like 80% of people on that!

Could you post a pic of your electronic folder?

For a more in-depth go into the library music rabbit hole, use RYM! There are plenty of RYM lists cataloging fantastic library music releases, more than I can list/upload/share here! You can find it all on either a blogspot, or on soulseek! I've yet to come across a release I couldn't find, so definitely use RYM as a reference!

Oneohtrix Point Never - Ruined Lives (FLAC, Boomkat-sourced)

>Synth, ambient, space music
This is, in my opinion, the best of the Ridge Valley Digital reissues; tracks 1-3 do not appear anywhere else but Ships Without Meaning appears on Rifts mixed slightly differently. Actual Air does not appear on Rifts, the original 2009 issue of Rifts mislabels Time Decanted as Actual Air. Let me know what you think of it.

I just ordered Skyramp's Days of Thunder and Infinity Window's Trans Fat from Discogs, so expect to see those to pop up in a few weeks in glorious FLAC.

The Waverly Consort - The Traveler
It's basically a bunch of recreations of 16th and 14th century spanish tunes. I found it at the public library, and ripped it, if you're into medieval music or just want something relaxing, it's pretty good.

I'll put it up later in the thread, or maybe next thread.

All music with influences from a negro or finding their origins with negros is detestable. It would take a short-sighted rap listener such as yourself to not believe this to be a fact.

Fuck, just realised I forgot it and came back, I'll repost it. Seems to be a more up to date version.

Just wondering anyone has a complete copy of 'Momoko Kikuchi - Adventure'? Everything in the archive is dead or missing track 4.

>Proto-Vaporwave, Vaporwave, Ambient, Atmospheric, Experimental, Creepy

>Link
https://mega.nz/#F!4lNWQaYY!UY8_is5QscoIOzp9sq98TA

>Why am I posting this instead of linking to his bandcamp?
Because for whatever reason, Skeleton decided to delete all of his albums off his bandcamp except his first three, which is a damn shame, because many of his post-Reflections releases are really, really good. This is an archive taken by someone else of everything 骨架的 has released up until 2016, including Poor Homme, an album that was only up for a limited time before being taken down and replaced with this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AmANLFV7uWY

We'll probably never find out why this happened, I'm theorizing something along the lines of Poor Homme being too personal ala The Residents - Not Available.
Personal reccs from this: Self-titled, Holograms, Safe, Poor Homme.

Popera Cosmic - Les Esclaves (1969) [256kbps]
>French psychedelic rock. William Sheller & Guy Skornik.
>“Here, the swooning orchestrations creak under the weight of all manner of period psychedelic mad hattery; the spirit here overtly suggestive at times of Jean-Pierre Massiera's Les Maledictus Sound, with its outsized sense of theatricality (at times tipping over into Komintern and Grand Magic Circus territory), overloads of caustic acid guitar flailing and fabulously cooing, sighing, and keening vocals.”

===========================
Kevin Ayers, John Cale, Eno, and Nico - June 1st 1974
>"Its now near common knowledge that John Cale was not particularly happy on the day of the Rainbow theatre performance, having discovered Ayers sleeping with his wife the day before." That's why this live is kinda disappointing imho.

Forgettable.

Ornette Coleman - Free Jazz - A Collective Improvisation By The Ornette Coleman Double Quartet, 1960

Well, there we have it. The big daddy of free jazz. The album that gave the "new thing" its name. Before Davis' spatial explorations, before Coltrane's religious ascension (pun intended), even before Sun Ra let completely loose, before both Ayler and Dolphy blessed us in 1964 with their respective master works, there was this.

Each stereo channel features a different quartet, with rhythm and horns being also in separate channels, kind of like seeing both bands from the side. Although there are some pre-written bits (the interludes between the solos) which are played rather loosely, this is indeed the first album-length improvisation. The solists bring their own style to the fight, exchanging phrase after phras in defiance of both the other player and the world of jazz as we knew it until then. The pounding drums keep a rather steady beat and make the whole thing flow nicely.

Although further examples of free jazz would prove to be more, erm, free, and challenging, the conceptual jump needed to make this album possible was, and to a dregree still is, unparalleled. A must for people either into the history of jazz, both traditional and avantgarde, and for those who like to find the extremes in all kinds of music, even if it takes you to places most people would find unbearable. Whatever your take on jazz, and improvisation, is, this is a key recording that shouldn't be ignored.

Hey, what do you have for The Clash? The archive only has London Calling and a box set of singles. Would really appreciate any of there other studio albums and From Here to Eternity: Live.
Also, what do you have for The Minutemen? The archive only has Double Nickels on the Dime. I would appreciate anything else by them too.

I hope I'm not asking too much, you have been very generous already to others. Thank you so much!

Personally, I like when people share iTunes stuff, especially when it's Mastered for iTunes; basically just an alternate master for lossy formats which really shine when you're using a mobile device with a good DAC or plugging direct into a Dolby surround, without having to dedicate a ton of space to the FLAC. It's still good to have lossless for archival purposes, but with the online support iTunes does a fairly good job of providing a quick and clean file.

I'd gladly take some of the Gorillaz, Thievery or James Blake. Just make sure you've properly scrubbed those files or else I'm going to loot your bank account and buy you every Elephant Six discography.

The 2011 Heavy Rocks has a purple cover. You should keep the other version if you get it, its worth at least $24 and legally, at least in the US, you can keep any package sent to your address by mistake.
>>
>>64478374
Oh I am keeping it. I got it a couple days ago and figured I must have ordered it but I just now realized I didn't. Especially after looking up the price on Discogs with the cheapest one in the US being $26. I'll fucking take it, saves me a lot.

You have to open 7zip, select both files, and then extract them. If you don't have 7zip there's probably a tool to do it online.
Zippyupload has file-size restrictions so any archive larger than 200Mb has to be cut into parts.

Boris - Heavy Rocks (2011) (FLAC, Bandcamp-sourced)

>Garage, hard-rock, sludge, doom
The one and only (third on Discogs) Boris with their second record to be titled "Heavy Rocks", the first being in 2002 with an orange cover. This record also shares the track Aileron with Attention Please, which released on the same day.
