Should women be allowed to continue attempting to make experimental music despite being so terrible at it?
>>
Women should be allowed to do everyhing men do. I think it's cute to see them try.
>>
>>64414697
If you think she counts as an example for experimental, you're a huge retard.
>>
Should men be allowed to continue attempting to make experimental music despite being so terrible at it?
>>
you can't be bad at being experimental
>>
>>64414697
Should the human race be allowed to continue attempting to make music even though music has become an entirely commercialised product to serve the consumer masses and make money for big business?
>>
>>64414697
why every day a thread about this bitch
can you not think of a better vendetta to pursue
>>
Alright but can we agree that Beastial Burden was laughably terrible? I've never heard PE so hilarious, and Consumer Electronics is one of my favorite groups.
>>
Should OP be allowed to continue attempt to make threads despite being so terrible at it?
>>
holy shit just go to WPOP thread and spam your waifu there, you don't need to make the same thread one million times
>>
>>64414972
only consumer societies should stop. certain peoples in the world still make music not related to consumption
>>
>>64415053

Spoken like someone who's never played music. Most amateur musicians make music for fun.
>>
>>64414697
Should OP be allowed to continue breathing when he so obviously wants to suffocate on cock?
>>
>>64415188
you're living in the 1st world, the music you produce exists to be consumed and commodified regardless of your intention or not
>>
Can we stop calling music experimental when it's part of an established genre that uses noise?
>>
>>64414991
>I've never heard PE so hilarious
PE is supposed to be hilarious
>>
>>64414946
you can if you've never learned the history and historical techniques of doing an art form before deciding to experiment.

The only musicians I'd consider "experimental" are those with masters degrees in composition, who decide to fuck the rules and do their own things. Schoenberg, Webern, Early Stockhausen, Early Ferneyhough, Grisey, Murail, Schnittke, Gubaidulina, Ustvolskaya, Feldman, Cage, Nancarrow, early Ligeti and Penderecki, etc.
>>
>>64416750
what if you write art music intended to exist in a written score for hundreds of years, bringing beauty to all those who hear it?
>>
>>64418711
>the list goes on...

That sounds awfully pretentious
>>
>>64418813
>the list goes on...
I never actually wrote that.
Hopetully you would get the gist of the kind of composers I would consider experimental.

Look at this for example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwtAMGXyTI4

Pretty experimental for 1958, considering most musicians at the time didn't know the first thing about electronic instruments beyond electric guitar/bass or organ
>>
That's a pleonasm. 'Experimental' is just a code word for 'shit'.
>>
>>64418711
You don't need to use a particular system to experiment. People all over the world have been experimenting for centuries to develop their musics. In Bali, people are constantly experimenting with composition. Ruggles claimed to have not studied music theory, and that his compositions were made by playing and listening. Many composers pursued ways of making music that their education in music had little or nothing to do with, like Percy Grainger. You don't need to learn the rules of any particular system. Perhaps you do to be part of the European tradition, but I don't think all of those musicians from different traditions or no tradition are failing to experiment because they may lack knowledge of some historical European techniques.

Nice collection of /mu/ memes you got there.
It's shocking to me to think that some people's only resources for music are /mu/ and RYM, that they are this incapable of looking for shit on their own and truly exploring music.
>>
Do you know what's wrong with experiments? Most of them fail. That's the nature of experimentation, and experimental music is no different. Why would I listen to music that'll probably be bad instead of something that's guaranteed to be enjoyable like Pop?
>>
>>64414697
They shouldn't be allowed to make any music at all. Female music is inferior to music made by men
>>
noise is never experimental
>>
>>64420405
You do understand these artists are recognized outside of RYM and /mu/, right? I think you've been subscribing to that shitty "pouser-core" meme for too long.

I was just using popular and well-respected examples to prove a point, not to display my taste in music.

I saw the words "women" and "experimental" then looked up at your picture and saw that you posted a blonde. Well no wonder.

>I was just using popular and well-respected examples to prove a point, not to display my taste in music.

No you didn't, if you actually knew what you were talking about while posting those examples you would have been bound to mention at least a few artists which had no /mu/ presence. You haven't done so. You're a spoonfed pleb.
>>
>>64414751

>if you actually knew what you were talking about while posting those examples you would have been bound to mention at least a few artists which had no /mu/ presence
Then why don't you actually try proving yourself right and post some examples instead of talking out of your ass?

Nah.

That was so fucking predictable that it wasn't even funny. I don't know why you even bothered replying.
