Is rap the most intellectual genre?
Oh yes, literally and definitely.

Yeah in bizzaro world
>>64412285
Probably since only pseudo-intellectuals listen to "intellectual" music.

Really depends on who you're listening to.
>>64412285
It's not that the genre itself is more intellectual than other genres, it just happens to have produced the largest amount of truly intellectual albums.
>genre
>/mu/ actually belives this.

>/mu/ actually belives this.
>actually belives this.
>belives this.

If you're not into rap, then OP is probably right.
>>64412285
no
i don't really think the way music can be "intellectual" is by putting a discursive argument or anything like that. music (and any kind of poetry) will always be inferior to prose in that way, and it's not the point of music to begin with
i think it's beauty, feeling and other kinds of aesthetic experience where music shines and can be intelligent in its way, and that can be achieved by any kind of music.
>(randomly-selected rap lyrics)
No.
>>64412996
Oh no, I spelled a word wrong! OP must be right, rappers are intellectuals.
>>64413167
Or rather, I didn't even spell it wrong since I was refering to /mu/ as one person rather than a group.
>>64412285
If you listen to quality rap like Immortal Technique, Lupe Fiasco, Eminem, Earl it actually is.

>he still doesn't realize what he did wrong
You can't make this shit up.
