I don't know how old you are but regardless I have the feeling I've done more drugs than the majority of the people on here. I've been partying since the late 80's. The only things I won't do anymore are acid, mesc, mushrooms, angel dust or crack. The only drugs I never willfully did was/is heroin or oxys/roxys or crystal meth. I've had ecstasy cut with heroin but never just heroin. Had a bunch of friends that dealt it and even more friends that did it/died from it. Horrible disgusting drug.
I used to party in NYC during the LimeLight days, partied in the Hamptons with models & celebrities before it was cool, lived and partied in Hollywood, had nights like The Hangover movie two times a week for over a decade, worked and partied harder on the Jersey Shore way before there was a reality show about it, I go on and on for days...I live to party and love to party. My whole questioning your partaking in the drug is that there were no strippers or coke whores involved. I used to do 8 balls with strippers that paid for the whole bag and would fuck the shit out of me. I used to get tipped bags of coke while bartending. I just never did drugs to stay awake to play a video game.

If you do decide to try it, make sure you get a product that has ONLY DXM as the active ingredient. Other ingredients will make you more likely to vomit and can cause liver damage. I would look up the DXM FAQ beforehand to get some more in depth safety info. The high is very different depending on the dose you take-- people call the levels of highs "plateaus", and there are 4 of them (though some people argue there's a fifth one)
The lower plateaus are very euphoric and energetic, while the higher ones are more incapacitating and you probably won't want to move much.
Nausea is a big deterrent for most people. This can be minimized by drinking orange juice beforehand, as DXM is basic and the acidity of the OJ will help counteract it and make it upset your stomach less. You'll probably want to start with the 1st or 2nd plateau for your first time. You can calculate what dose to take to get to them based on your weight. Google "DXM calculator"
I'd recommend taking it on an almost empty stomach-- with something light like crackers or white bread so that you have a little bit of stuff for it to absorb into. Lastly, weed + DXM is the best combo of drugs I've ever tried, but I would wait until about 2 hours into your trip to smoke, and I wouldn't smoke before the trip that day
Music sounds fucking amazing while on DXM. I recommend ambient chill stuff but also noisey stuff. Really anything you like

Absolutely. I've done it. Listen loud with headphones is my advice. Things that are noisy/droney sounding can amplify the high, because DXM kinda makes it so there's a delay in processing sensory information. Then that's compounding by a constant noise and your brain is constantly trying to catch up and it's very mind-fuck-y
It also helps that that album is very nostalgic to me, and many people have talked about how DXM has a very nostalgic feel to it
