What is /mu/'s opinion on Daft Punk?
Really quite awful. RAM was pure style over substance. Discovery is everything I dislike in house. Listen to Basement Jaxx - Remedy instead. Or some Orb.
It's amazing how Daft Punk are world famous, while arguably more inventive and influential producers like Todd Edwards from the same era are virtually unknown to the general public.

I like them, discover is still in my top 20 to this day and think most of the hate they get is unjustified
They're a good introduction to electronic music but everything after Discovery has been disappointing, I'll always have a soft spot for how they introduced me to house though

Entry level, but they're still really good. I don't know why people shit on RAM here, I liked it a lot. It does have a few duds, though, but the good tracks make up for it.
Like it or not, they've changed electronic/house music forever.
