Love the midwest emo influence on Long Drive and Crowded West, it adds a certain uniqueness to their ol'90's indie rock sound. Also love Modest Mouse's influence on Brand New's The Devil And God album.

lonesome crowded west is probably the best

good news for people who love bad news i think is the strongest thematically tho, its a good turning point in how their style developed (can't say im too big of a fan of float on, but ocean breathes salty is still in my top 5 jams of all time)

it's one of their best. it's overlong and doesn't have the stylistic variety that lcw has to support that length but there's no way an album with dramamine, lounge, beach side property, tundra/desert, ohio and talking shit about a pretty sunset is trash
