Enjoying The Verve lately.

I really don't have one.
My mode of listening is to jump from song to song on YouTube, each being in at least a way better than all the past ones. So that once I find such a song, I will listen to it on repeat for a week or so and include it into my pantheon, or should I say, panodeon. Hardly a song is allowed to be worse than their predecessors. This way, as I leave more and more songs unavailable to me, my taste is only allowed to improve.
>>64326657
REcently got into them. Am loving them. 10/10

What, too popular for you? Give me an album you consider 10/10. I bet $100 bucks that it's some "obscure" bullshit that you only like to make you feel better about yourself. Animal Collective is an extremely good pop band so suck my dick
Dead serious. Been a fan for 16 years, been to 13 shows.

DEVO
The Hardcore material to Oh No, It's DEVO is the best post-punk/new wave/art rock/synthpop/synthpunk/proto-math rock ever put to tape. Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are DEVO! is especially an objective masterpiece that STILL manages to throw people for a loop and inspire genuine hostility despite coming out close to 40 years ago and not even being that sonically abrasive when it came out. It is the pinnacle of pop music.
Also, DEVO's music really helped me get back on the right track several years ago.
Emperor, i went with literally no money to Germany (Wacken) just for them, i had to play guitar on the streets, beg for money and a lot of stuff to get money to come back home... i almost die lol but it was absolutely worth it.
>tfw no bf who shares my love of pavement
>>64334869
fucking bum
here's a thought: get a job and save your money so you don't have to grovel on the streets like a pathetic dog.

Modest Mouse, but I ignore everything that came after Moon and Antarctica
Grateful Dead
Their music is pure and sweet. It's about sharing and helping others.

The Wedding Present
They've actually been my favorite for so long that I've gotten bored with them being my favorite band, but search as hard as I can, I can't find anything in rock that's as powerful. Certainly groups like Einsturzende Neubauten were more innovative, but nobody else has quite as much substance, especially on the album Seamonsters. On that album, the combination of intimate but literary lyricism, melancholy crooning, heavy post-hardcore-influenced noise blasts (it was produced by Albini), heavy drums, and hints of jangle pop combine to make one of the most emotionally potent things I've ever heard in rock music. I like some screamo bands, but in terms of emotion this can rival anything in that genre. The only things in music I've found that can beat it are certain jazz and classical pieces, like Charles Mingus' Let My Children Hear Music, and Antonio Vivladi's classic The Four Seasons
Pet Sounds might still be the best rock album, though

Since I was 12
>>64341937
more like Foo Fighters with hardcore punk vocals, shoegaze guitars, and alternately punk and prog songstructures rather than power pop ones
which is to say, they don't sound even remotely like Foo Fighters in any capacity
>>64326657
sonic youth is the official pretentious high schooler answer to "what is your favorite band"
Without a doubt
