All Ed seems to have done is put extra stuff on top of finished songs. And his guitar parts could've easily been played by Jonny (or Thom, a pretty good guitarist himself)

AK has written exactly zero songs for the band. He only writes lyrics. John wrote like 50% of the songs, Flea wrote like 20%, and the other 30% come from jams. Everybody generally writes their own parts, except John also wrote the vocal melodies, but it fluctuated some in different eras of the band. Their new music is mostly written by Flea and their music before John was mostly collaborative I think. I think it was mostly Flea with some collaboration from Dave on One Hot Minute.
Either way, Kiedis did not write Under the Bridge except the lyrics, as is the case for most every other song they have ever put out. He did write the lyrics before they(John) wrote the music though.
