i liked their first album. i mean its nothing groundbreaking or anything, but still their sound is unique and struck a nerve with me. i like the production work on the voice. their new album was too poppy for my taste though. some tracks are okay but in general not happy with it. i like shrines from start to finish though. consistent quality. especially the secound half is pretty good.

I've listened over 50 times to their debut. Was completely disappointed by their debut.
I really like Shrines but that second album was so forgettable. Saw them at Coachella and remembered why I liked them in the first place. Hope they get back on track with the next one.

sucks that they didn't get the commercial or YA movie placement that would've made them take off. shrines is the exact opposite of everything i would assume that band was on paper. there are moments where they transcend every pitfall of bands similar to them as well as indie pop/rock as a whole.

Another Eternity has 1-2 decent songs max. Everything else is overproduced overly bright glossy pop garbage. And the singing and lyrics are so trite and sound identical on almost every song. The melodies are extremely forgettable and non-catchy, except on those 1-2 songs (I forget which).

What are you talking about? All songs from Shrines sound the same. That's the biggest problem with Purity Ring. Chvrches have more variety (Lies, Tether, You Caught a Light, Science/Visions, Empty Threat, Clearest Blue, Gun, etc).
