Audacity for cheap on the go self-mastering, Reaper for everything else, often also self-mastering. I make all sorts of stuff, but I mostly dabble in ambient, crossbreed/industrial hardcore and a fusion of trance and house. Gonna use it for grunge, psych rock, metal, folk and neofolk music as well when I get a decent instrument mic.

I'm on Linux, so I've been using hydrogen as a drum machine, qsynth and vmpk as my midi controller, and audacity for editing/sampling/recording
