you dont have to like it. but its everywhere. unless you cut off hearing capabilities you have to deal with it anyways. i dont like it but i like the things it can teach me. just listen to music to think ethnographically or culturally. i could care less about music as a purely sonic material but thinking what it means as the output of the human psyche and greater surrounding culture is amazing and utterly fascinating.
