obviously teh closest they ever came to being mainstream and is probably a major reason for their break up unfortunately

I don't know about in general, but my copy of Disco Volante gets caught in a locked groove at around 3 minutes in. And it skips like crazy.

I like it a lot. Obviously it is far more approachable than their earlier work but tbqh it is my favorite album of theirs.

Trevor Dunn is a good lyricist, and underrated bassist.
it amazes me how each bungle album can juggle so many differing styles of music while still maintaining an overall sense of cohesion. california is their 'warmest' release, and was my favorite for a while, but these days i'd go with disco volante. fantastic band overall though.
