Listen to Loveless/Isn't Anything, the Slowdove debut album, and that first Rode album. That's fucking it. Everything else in the genre is painfully mediocre at best.

A lot of my favorite shoegaze these days is coming out of Asia
Half Dreaming is an excellent compilation and a good introduction to Asian gaze

Blue Loveless is another good album. It's a Korean tribute to Loveless, the quintessential shoegaze album. Unlike Yellow Loveless, the Japanese tribute album, Blue Loveless has some much more interesting takes on the songs rather than more straightforward covers.
