Timberlake was one of the reasons for the popist turn of the early 2000s, was used in the argument that 'actually pop is pretty undeniable' - him being an Nsync guy.
We're probably coming to another stage after popism now (I certainly am) but I think it should always be established that good jams are good jams, regardless of source or intention.
