Well, it may not be especially innovative or anything but for an aging musician Young really pulls off a special aesthetic goal that's relatively new for him. It's impressive and probably the most creative album I've heard from a rock musician who's as old as he is. His voice and lyrics are still great and the long jams are nice, good tones everything. Maybe you'd have to be into Neil Young already to find it interesting though, I dunno.
