listen to McCarthy, 100 flowers and métal urbain then. McCarthy is political, jangly pop, 100 flowers is minimalist punm with surprisingly dark lyrics, and Métal Urbain is a French politically heavy synthpunk group.

What makes Vespertine your favorite album?

In Rainbows is just a really nice, confident, beautiful album. The band have nothing to prove to anyone. It's their first happy album. PH and the Bends were angsty, OKC, Kid A, and Amnesiac were paranoid, and HTTT was political. But In Rainbows is just at peace.
It's the first radiohead album to really use a lot of second person. You are my center, when I spin away, out of control, on videotape...
The part in Reckoner where the backing vocals go from just moaning to saying "In raaainbows" gets me every time. The length of the album before than point and the length of it after that point form the golden ratio by the way.
Weird Fishes, All I Need, Nude, and Reckoner are simply perfect IMO.
The album is so personal, so intimate. It's just really nice.
