It's not bait. I honestly see Painting With growing on people in a year or two, same as CHz did when people got over their initial impressions.

Sleep Cycle is a very immediate album and was embraced because it's everything AnCo fans wanted that PW didn't deliver. Get some distance and I don't think it'll stand out above any other modern AnCo releases.

Sleep cycle is a nice throwback to peak Anco while still soundibg fresh and modern. PW is kind of catchy and I think it'll grow on me over time. I still think they've taken on too much of electronic sound in an effort to sound modern. It would be nice if they toned it back a bit on their next releases.

I guess it's hard to be an experimental band for over a decade. Eventually the stuff you made years ago becomes part of the mainstream and you have to reinvent your sound, and that doesn't always go over well with fans
