My fav is FFIX, I do really like Nobuo Uematsu's work in general, especially on the PS FFs. Is it just me or does a lot of his work seem inspired by 70s prog?
Also, respect to Shoji Meguro for SMT soundtracks, especially Nocturne. I love how it has all these classic rawk jams for the battle themes and these great little ambient pieces for the dungeons. Complements the game's atmosphere perfectly.

i hate when people say undertale has a great soundtrack. its all either a boring sond that was built around a catchy riff, a rehash of another song or an incredibly cheesy tryhard "emotional" attempt. the only truly good tracks are ruins and both of the secret lab ones.

Which Spyro had the best music?
I honestly have to go with the first. Its not as thoroughly mastered or varried but its somehow more pure and unique. The game itself as well. The varried level themes and minigames made it hard to become quite as engrossed in the environments and its reflected in the music. Spyro one is high art really, that's why there is so little gameplay
