Fucking A+ Anon I went through the same process
I have a hard time liking FABOTH because I know so much of it is fucked up and unfinished and if Elliott had been alive long enough to complete his vision it might have been one of the best albums ever made
imo though even as it is it's the definitive proof that Elliott Smith was a genius and his most emotional album by far. There are too many moments on that album that are damn near painful to listen to
>"that's why" at the end of Coast to Coast
>The opening to Don't Go Down
>All of King's Crossing
>The fucking one-two-three of Memory Lane > Little One > ADRINANTBF

why does /mu/ shit on albums that i love?
i know the lyrics are cheesy and generic but that is a part of the charm of this album senpai. and the tunes (drums/guitars etc) are quite good imo.

The whole album is pretty much about heroin addiction and the depression/angst/fatigue associated with it, yeah. With the exception of Rooster, I guess.
>>64137070
Reminds me
I knew a guy who was into guitars, pedals and all that. He mostly listened to post-rock and metalcore. Told him about shoegaze and APTBS, he says "ha I'm not into this shit"
Meet him years later. He's telling me about this new awesome band he found, called APTBS.

Whoa. Just googled the meaning of Would?, I had no idea what it was about.
> The song concerns the late lead singer of Mother Love Bone, Andrew Wood, who died of a heroin overdose in 1990. Would? and Wood are homophones.
Holy fuck
Also about Dam That River
> On the Music Bank booklet, Jerry Cantrell said the song was written for revenge when he and drummer Sean Kinney got into a fight and Kinney broke a coffee table over Cantrells' head.

Imagine her without makeup. She'd be a piece of shit.
There are people who grows up with extremely low self-esteem, but with fucked up egos. Not being talented, they end up going too far trying to prove that they are special by performing public stunts, dressing outrageously and so on. Usually comes from family problems

Idk if it's his best I agree it's up there but I would feel much more comfortable calling it his best if we saw the full version, as it is it still has a lot of problems. Like I think it has the highest highs of all of them but also the lowest lows.
Maybe at some peak time we should all band together and pull from the unreleased shit and demos from the period and come up with a revised tracklist for FABOTH the same way someone did with Hail To The Thief.
>>64138867
>the same way someone did with Hail To The Thief.
you mean thom? comparing radiohead to elliott smith would make thom the equivalent to elliott, and elliott is dead and can no longer revise his tracklists.
>>64138923
Thom didn't revise the tracklist himself though, did he? I thought it was someone else and he just gave them a nod of approval.
> elliott is dead and can no longer revise his tracklists
Exactly. And there are some pretty glaring exclusions (Stickman, Abused) and inclusions (Pretty (Ugly Before), Ostrich and Chirping). I've always thought it would be interesting for a group to work together and come up with a more complete/better flowing tracklist for the album, especially given all of the unreleased songs we have available.
