You posted it.

this is second.
>>
>>64094215
How are they compared to: In The Court of the Crimson king?
>>
objectively Red

Larks' doesn't have any moments as memorable as Starless although The Talking Drum is close
>>
>>64094262
In The Court isnt even top 3 KC

It's a meme /mu/core record because the cover attracts more attention
>>
We all know the best king crimson album is ITWOP
>>
>>64094275
You don't really believe this

It's top 3
>>
>>64094262
ITCOCK is overrated garbage
>>
Top 3 for me is Red, Discipline and ItCotCK.
>>
>>64094262
A bit more proggy and experimental. More of an eastern European influence to it.
>>
Great so now we're calling ITCOCK trash to seem more contrarian now

Sometimes I hate this place
>>
>>64094319
Welcome to /mu/, once something gets popular it becomes bad.
>>
King Crimson is one of my favourite band ever. They've never made any album below a 6.
>>
>>64094288
Discipline, larks and red are all better
>>
ITCOTCK desu, nothing else captures the mystical medieval atmosphere like that album.
>>
>>64094402
some of their late 80s and 90s stuff is pretty meh. Still better than most music of that time though.
>>
ersatz shit
>>
>>64094485
I like the "new wave trilogy" a lot, The Power to Believe is great, too.
>>
KC are fucking trash kid.

Genesis>Jethro Tull>Yes>Can>Swans>KC
>>
>>64094582
>Genesis
>Yes
>SWANS

You could have at least put some effort into this

I didn't like Beat, Three of a Perfect Pair was alright. Thrak and Construction of Light were shit,, Power to Believe was good. Everything from Discipline back is amazing though.

Holy fuck m8
>>
Lizard is their most underrated album
>>
>>64094720
nah, that was gets enough praise by people who actually listen to it. it's just not popular.

in the wake of poseidon is their most underrated.
>>
>>64094582
>Hey guys, these are the few prog and post-rock bands I've listened to, here are my opinions!!
>>
>>64094215
Red > Larks > ITCOTCK > Discipline > THRAK > Starless > ITWOP > ConstruKction > Lizard > Islands > Three > Beat > Power

Both Belew eras (especially 90s) are very underrated. They haven't released a bad album, though.

Really hope they release another studio album soon, but it seems Fripp is more interested in live reinterpretations than anything else. Actually have tickets to see them this year so it's not too bad.

If you haven't already, everyone should listen to Steven Wilson's remasters, especially of the early albums. Makes a world of difference.

>>64094319
Who said it's trash?
>>
>>64094215
>>64094230
Please remove these photos, you do not have permission to use them.

t. Robert Fripp
>>
>>64094598
What's wrong with Yes? This list is still trash though.
>>
>>64094319
ITCOTCK was always overrated and inferior to Larks it's just you who doesn't know anything
>>
>>64095139
Implying Genesis isn't the best Prog Band of all time.
Implying Thick as a Brick isn't the best prog album of all time
>>
>>64095161
Genesis is overrated. Thick as a Brick is pretty good, but not the best.
>>
>>64095135
Fripp doesn't like other people using his artwork for commercial gain. It's not actually that strange. He puts a lot of effort into packaging his music a certain way, even if it's outdated, he's rock royalty and can do what he wants. Most of his albums are classics, I don't think it's that bad to expect people to actually pay for them.

Hows this?
>>
>>64095408
Shit. Together with Beat they're Discipline's retarded siblings.
>>
>>64095426
Im getting it for 13 bucks
>>
The best vocalist KC ever had was Greg Lake in my opinion. It's part of the reason I like their first album the best.
>>
>>64094994
Islands is the most underrated
>>
>>64095803
i would disagree because i dont really like islands, but i can see why you'd think it's most underrated if you enjoy it.

I legitimately believe that Islands is the best thing King Crimson has done. I don't think any one else shares this opinion though.
>>
>>64095938
yeah it's pretty unusual!
>>
>>64094720
>>64094994
Both are just shit, that's why no one likes them
>>
>>64094263
The final minute on Easy Money is some of the best music ever recorded, you pleb.
>>
>>64094402
>They've never made any album below a 6.

Thrakattak.
>>
>>64096038
and when larks part 1 kicks in
>>
>>64095803
Islands is lovely, but man is it schizophrenic.
>>
>>64094402
Lizard
Beat
ConstruKction
Power to Believe

There you go
>>
>>64096038
easy money sounds cool af on live recordings too
>>
>>64096070
Chills, every time.

I remember once when the entire LTIA LP was uploaded to youtube, the uploader edited it in a way where LTIA pt.1 faded seamlessly into Book Of Saturday.

It was fucking awesome.

Find me a better live album.

Seriously, try.
>>
>>64096081
My opinion:
Lizard - 7.5
Beat - 7
ConstruKction - 6
The Power to Believe - 7.5
>>
>>64096121
Mine

Lizard: 5
Beat: 4
ConstruKction: 3.5
Power: 4.5
>>
proge what other progrock bands do you like
i've only ever see you talk about king crimson
>>
What's with the Beat hate?

I thought it was great. Sartori In Tangier is amazing.
>>
>>64096160
Mate I talk more about Magma and Henry Cow than I do King Crimson

>>64096166
Boring and unispired is the general criticism

My mom saw KC in the early 70s. She didn't know who they were at the time and doesn't like them now. What a waste.

>>
>>64095408
Discipline > Three > Beat
>>
>>64095938
Islands is fucking amazing and although not their best most definitely their most underrated album.
>>
The first album of each 'wave' of King Crimson seems to be the best.

ITCOTCK wave, LTIA wave, Discipline wave, etc

The aforementioned three are my top three favourites.
