I'm feeling a little down tonight. My best friend was shot dead early this morning and I just now found out.

Some people respond to loss more differently than others. When my mother died, I was just living in a muted haze, until about 2 months later I finally broke down and cried until I was in a near panic attack state 6 hours later. Sometimes there's weird little delays in response to emotional trauma like that.
